Urban Security Project
The Urban Security Project takes up the Physical Security Programme's normative intervention theme. The project has worked with the City of Cape Town to explore the potential of neighbourhood-based Improvement Districts as security nodes. This has included exploring the value of a 'Neighbourhood Coordination' nodal policing model developed by the Dutch Police. This initiative has led to a significant project being launched by the City of Cape Town to explore Neighbourhood Coordination in three pilot site with John Cartwright and Marcel Zethoven of the Dutch Police.
